HOPE Gets Cooking in the Kitchen

This week we were at Parker Elementary for activity where we did a "breakfast for dinner" cooking session. Pancakes, eggs, sausages links, fruit, and OJ were on the menu this week, and our mentees were star chefs helping the HOPE mentors prepare the meal. While some students were preparing pancakes, others worked on a cooking conversion worksheet and cooking vocabulary scramble, switching places to cook eggs and sausage links later. Everyone got a chance in the kitchen, as well as a chance to show off their math and spelling skills. Check out a few pictures of the activity below:

HOPE Clothing Drive & Fashion Show

HOPE is holding another event at the Madison Juvenile Correctional Facility in March. We are collecting business clothes so the girls can have an outfit to wear during an interview when they are released. We are also having a fashion show to show off our new business apparel and talk about the different kinds of business clothes and when they are appropriate. If you have skills you think you could contribute to the fashion show, or clothes you'd like to donate, reach out to any HOPE staff member!
