Limestone Post Magazine, Featuring HOPE

Last spring, journalist Ann Georgescu wrote an article about the HOPE Mentoring program that was featured in Limestone Post Magazine. Georgescu's piece focuses on our work in the Madison Juvenile Correctional Facility, and includes interviews with MJCF staff. We loved her work, and thought it really captured the spirit of HOPE. Check it out in the link below!

An Awesome Kickoff Event!

Yesterday, HOPE met for its first meeting of the year, bringing together old and new mentors to meet, plan, and get excited for a year of mentoring. With over eleven people in attendance, we were thrilled to see growth from our two mentors last year. A first group of mentors will begin September 23rd, with a new group of students in New Castle, Indiana. Shortly after, the following Sunday, HOPE will resume mentoring at Madison Juvenile Correctional Facility. We are looking forward to a great year, and can't wait to see our mentors and mentees working together.

A Visit to Hanover College: The Fall Activity Fair

HOPE Mentoring is pairing with the LIGHT organization at Hanover College this year, so they met up at the fall Activity Fair at Hanover to recruit new members. LIGHT and HOPE both work in the Madison Juvenile Correctional Facility, planning activities for the girls that help them improve their social skills, build positive relationships with the volunteers and other girls, and to inspire hope and excitement about their futures. LIGHT brings their volunteers together on Friday nights for weekly group activities with the girls, while HOPE pairs college mentors with girls for one-on-one activities that are more individually goal-oriented. As we recruit members this year, we hope to see crossove
